ESCAPE - set escape character.

$*$EScape character
sets the escape character for arguments (command line or user) to the given character. Two consecutive escape characters are converted to a single escape character, except in the case of expansion indirection (see the main explain file, "expl exec"). The default is "#".

If "character" is not specified, $*$EScape sets the escape character back to '#'.
