GCVT - ***OBSOLETE*** convert float to string.

Usage:

char *gcvt();
str = gcvt(value,length,buf);

Where:

double value;
is the floating point value to be converted.
int length;
is the number of significant digits in the string result.
char *buf;
points to a buffer where "gcvt" will write a representation of "value". This will be an ASCII string ending in the usual '\0'. The "printf" "%f" format will be used if possible; otherwise, "gcvt" will use "%e" format (scientific notation).
char *str;
also points to "buf".

Description:

The "gcvt" function is equivalent to

sprintf(buf,"%.*g",length,value);

It should be considered obsolete.
