IDENTIFY - record personal information.
Syntax:
identify [options]*
+All +NoMailBox
+NoSMC +YES
Delete=userid Locate=pattern
languageKey=xxxx Register=userid
Examples:
identify -- record personal info
iden +a -- get info on all others
iden l=smith -- get info on "smiths"
Options:
- +All
- lists information on all users who have identified
themselves.
- +NoMailBox
- lists all entries in the database that have no mailbox
file or that have mailbox files with a hostile FMS
attribute (such as a password or write lock). This option
may only be used by people with LODS privileges at sites
using the Secure Command Loader.
- +NoSMC
- lists all entries in the database that no longer have a
userid (SMC entry). This option may only be used by
people with LODS privileges at sites using the Secure
Command Loader.
- +YES
- is used in conjunction with the Delete=userid option. It
says that information on the given userid should be
deleted immediately, without asking for confirmation.
- Delete=userid
- deletes personal information on the specified user. You
can delete your own personal information, but only people
with LODS permission may delete information on someone
else. Normally, this option asks for confirmation before
deleting information.
- languageKey=xxxx
- asks IDENT to conduct its dialog in a language other than
English. The rules for the language key "xxxx"
follow the same as for MAIL8; see "expl mail8 option
language" for more information.
- Locate=pattern
- prints all personal information records that contain the
given pattern, where "pattern" is any accepted
by the TSS LOCATE command.
- Register=userid
- specifies personal information for the named user. You
may register your own userid, but only people with LODS
permission may register someone else.
Description:
IDENTIFY is used to record and print personal information
about the users on your system.
If no options are specified on the command line, IDENTIFY will
prompt you for information about yourself. The options let you
find out information about other people who have supplied
information about themselves.
Only users with LODS permission can delete personal
information or register people other than themselves.
If you are trying to register someone while the main
information file is busy (registering someone else), IDENTIFY
will make several attempts to register you. If this cannot be
done, you will be informed that the file is busy and that you
should try again later.
