ZL - Zap Lower case.

Syntax:

ZL
ZL/pattern/

Examples:

*zl
zl/name/
zl2/the/

Options:

/
It is general practice to use / as a delimiter in many commands. However, any non-alphanumeric character can also be used. The final delimiter may be omitted if O-S/ is in effect and the ZL command is immediately followed by a new-line.
pattern
If you specify a pattern, ZL only converts strings into lower case if they match the pattern.

Description:

ZL puts letters into lower case. If you do not specify an address, ZL works on the current line. If you specify one address, ZL works on that line. If you specify two addresses, ZL works on all the lines between and including the given lines. In this case, the first address must precede the second in the buffer.

If you do not specify a pattern, ZL converts entire lines into lower case. In this case, there must be a space or tab between the ZL and any other commands that follow on the same command line.

If you do not specify a pattern, ZL sets the count register to the number of lines put into lower case. If you specify a pattern, ZL sets the count register to the number of matching strings converted. If ZL does not convert any characters, an error is issued.
